View Full Version : Ductwork from Revit Systems in Revit Building

We just adopted Revit a few months ago and are slowly integrating it into the workings of the office. Here is my question. I have a model drawn in Revit Building 9.1 and the mechanical system was drawn in Revit systems and imported into the building model. I cannot get the ductwork turned off so it won't print (for example on the roof framing plan). I have tried hiding the items and turning everything off in the Vis/Graph window, but still have no luck.
Anyone have a solution to this problem I'm banging my head against the wall about??????????
Thanks,
Tony

Assuming you linked the Systems model, you should be able to turn it off in the View Visibility/Graphics under Revit Links tab.
Also you may need to click on the 'Show categories from all disciplines' checkbox to have ducts show up as an item to be controlled. Then you can switch them off.

If you linked in the rvt file, make sure your link visibility is set to "by linked view" and then your view's visibility settings also control the link. If you want individual control of host and link, set the visibility of the link to Custom and override the visibility settings in the link's visibility dialog.

Also, in the visibility/graphic settings, did you try checking the "Show categories from all disciplines"?

Another question that I have is there a way to control the visibility of the link file like it's globally off during linking rather than vice versa? One good example of this is that you dont want your plumbing system or mechanical ducting to be on to all the views and turn it off one by one because most likely than not you are going to need the ducting in a very minimal views only. FYI we are still in release 9.0 and have not upgraded to 2008.

Put the link model in a worksets that is not visible by default in all views.

It's a pleasure.
