View Full Version : How to create multiple level lines in Revit Family?

I am creating families in Revit 2008, sometime, I need to create a second level line, does anyone know how to do it?

Have you tried using reference planes instead? You can set the dimension between a level and the intermediate reference plane; this can be either fixed or parametrically changed. This quantity can be added as a new parameter to your 'family types' field. Let me know how that goes! Or click on the dimension string that you've just created and apply a label to it which will automatically show in the 'family types' dialog.

thank you for your answer, actually I was trying to make a downspout family.Please look at the attached file, you will know my problem. When I open the 1st level, i see everything of the whole downspout, (which I don't want, I just want to see a simple circle - the cut section of the downspout). I was thinking if I can create several levels in family, maybe I could solve this problem?

1. Select the downspout geometry and modify the visibility settings, turning off visibility in plan and when cut in plan.

2. In the plan view, draw a circle using symbolic lines.
