View Full Version : Callouts Disappeared

If this has already been addressed, please excuse me: I've done a search & didn't come up with this topic. Maybe this is related to the new dependent views. I have a small-scale floor plan from which I've generated a number of larger-scale plan callouts (pre-RAC2008 ). Now I can't get the callouts to show up, and the only callouts that do appear are those that reference other plan views. The views that go with the missing callouts are still listed in the project browser & still visible on the sheets they have been placed on. I've already checked visibility settings in the referencing view, and tried to look for any callouts that might have been individually overridden, but to no avail. Anyone have any suggestions?

Did you check phasing?

Phasing is not an issue. Just to be certain, I checked: this is a new building & everything is on the same phase (New Construction). As a workaround, I've added callouts referencing the established views (deleting the "Sim" annotation)--but it's still frustrating. Where'd they go?

I had the same issue

if you turn off the crop region the come back.

I used masking regions then in place of a crop region because I was issueing an addendum and did not want to change anything,
but a better solution is to create a new floor plan of that level and copy the annotations

Send in a support request for this, it is defiantly a bug

Dean:

Believe I have just had a similar problem however not with callouts but section marks. Revit support resolved it for me. I will explain. I created a plan view made a duplicate plan view however one is in archictectural discipline and the other in structural. Problem was that I could not see my section cuts. Problem was solved by going to another view where I could create the section cuts and changing the discipline so it would be visible in the initial view. Long and short of it try changing the discipline of the cutout and see if it works.

Good luck.

P.S.

From Revit Support

"... normally, the section marks take on the same discipline as the view, but sometimes if the views where created from other views you can see the behavior that you say ..."

Dean,
When you figure it out can you come downstairs and turn mine back on too? I have the actual call out listed under "sections". But in the larger view there are no boundary lines at all for it.

For those interested, here is what Autodesk had to say about this:

"Unfortunately, the problem with the callouts is a known issue that Development is currently working to resolve. In the meantime, the only workaround is to turn off the crop region. I apologize if this causes any inconvenience.

"Please let me know if you have any questions."

This was an issue during Beta period but there was announcement it was resolved for 2008 release. I have checked a file where I had the problem and everything was o.k. Which Revit version you have you installed, downloaded or CD. I read somewhere that downloadable is more up to date one.

I'm using the latest build (20070404_1700). Maybe there will be a new one to resolve this soon.
