Speaking of SITE PLANS, help please...

Ok, I havn't done this for a really long time as all but one project was on a flat surface.

I have already built the house and just got the topo survey, converted it to 3d mesh in Revit. The house's 1st level ff is at 1'-0". This always works fine if you don't have a sloping site.

I now see that I have to move the house up to fit on the site plan correctly, 101.5' so that the topo survey increments are correct.

What is the trick? I can't move the house up, Revit won't let me, and if I just move the topo down to where I need it, the contours display the wrong information.

Is it something under site settings?

Please help, it's been way to long for site tools.

Hi Kroke,

This was discussed recently (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=4893&highlight=RELOCATE).

I think the concensus for best practice was to link the building to a site plan and then share those coordinates with the building file.

However, if you don't want to get into linking projects, then Relocate the project,. Select one of the levels in an elevation or section. Select properties for the level from the options bar. Select Edit properties. Under the Elevation Base row, select "shared".

Seriously, I'm taking more stuff to the engineer tomorrow regarding the changes I havn't done yet on your project. I promise I won't modify your plans, I'll just modify what needs to be changed so that you can see and change yourself. They're easy as far as I know, but I guess I'll get the real info tomorrow after the meeting. Email me when you get in and we'll catch up.

PS Thanks Beegee, I'll check out the other thread...I'm just afraid that when I start moving levels, the whole thing is going to tweek out since I have to do them one level at a time...

If you're going to relocate the project, you will need to lock the level relationships first.
