callouts not visible in duplicated plan view RA2008

I am creating a column plan, which is a duplicated view of my foundation plan. I want to place a callout so I can detail the base plates, but the callouts won't show up in the plan view. I've checked all of the view settings and parameters to make sure the callouts are not turned off, but it still won't show up. It creates the callout view in the project browser, but no callout bubble in the plan view.

Reference callouts WILL show up in the plan view, BTW.

Any ideas?

This may be related to the vanishing callouts problem I posted earlier, since with that the reference callouts still show up too. (See http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=59988)

Yes, it sounds like it. In my case, even turning the crop region on and off doesn't work. If it makes any difference, this is an upgraded 9.1 file.

I'm going to try downloading the latest build tomorrow to see if that works.

EDIT:

OK, I was toggling "crop region on/off" instead of the "crop view" button. They show up now. Irritating, to say the least.
