View Full Version : Baluster justification

I have a concrete stair that is 5'-6" long. I have a railing with balusters set to 4 ft. spacing. I'd like to have a baluster at each end of the stair and then 1 centered along the stair run. If I change justification to center, I get 2 balusters centered, 4 feet apart, which puts each of them about 9" from the beginning and the end.

If I try Spread Pattern to Fit, I get no balusters between the beginning and the end. I thought that Spread Pattern to Fit meant that it would place balusters at equal spacing along the railing, but it would not exceed the 4 ft. spacing in the baluster placement dialog.

I can't set the spacing manually to 2'-9", because that would add extra balusters around the landing at the top of the stair (5' x 5' landing) which I do not want.

Anyone have an idea how to get this to work?

instead of using main pattern, I would use posts at the begining and at the end, then when you draw the railing, instead of drawing one line for the rail, draw two lines, that way you can control where the posts are and that way you place the posts anywhere you draw the start and the end of lines.

Hope it helps
