I have a master plan Revit file with a few buildings linked in (each building a separate Revit file). For these linked files in the Revit model, I would like to hide the Grid bubbles, but show the grid lines, from the links. Is there any way to do this?

Hi! Alas, I have not found a way to do this. You can half tone the grids when they are imported, but you cannot turn off the bubbles and leave the grids..Unless someone has figured out a great work around. With Revit 2008, the linked files can be turned into groups at the click of a button. Then in the groups you could turn off the bubbles, but that seems a hell of a work around...
Sorry I could not be of more help.

You could use copy/monitor to have a set of grids in the site file and use those for your site documentation. The site file grids can be a type that doesn't use a bubble at all. Don't show the grids in the building files at all...just a thought.

Steve,
Good tip, I will give that a try.
Thanks

I think this is the same thing Steve is suggesting, but I'd make a new type under System Family: Grid and turn the bubbles off(Uncheck "Symbol at End 1" and Symbol as End 2". Then appy this type to the grids that are in your linked files.

Thanks Steve for another great solution! I did not consider copy/monitor. Excellent!
