2D BAR JOISTS

i thought i remembered being able to place a 2d bar joist in section and drag in acrossed my section to make it longer... was i dreaming?

Did you check the detail library ?

i did. that's where i found the 2D 18K4 joist in elevation... but this one is only about 3 feet long and only has one end... and there is no control to extend the length of the joist itself only the bearing plate. it works fine for wall sections but i could have swore i remembered being able to pull in a 2D bar joist that you could 'draft' into the building sections rather than have to model all of your structure. i've bounced around a couple of different peices of software in the last couple of years so i could be mistaken.

That's where I feel Revit falls far short of ADT's Detail Manager. Why can't one compontent detail have a plan, section, elevation view? Why can we pick points to create a 2D bar joist? Anyone want to vote for this functionality in Revit?
