3D View orientation didn't save!

I'm trying to set up an exterior rendering. I had the view oriented where I wanted it, but then I had to save and close to restart my computer (Windows updates). When I came back, my view had reverted to an earlier orientation! I had to try to approximate all over again where I had the view's camera placed, angle and inclination of the view, etc. Why did it not save the orientation where it was when I saved and closed?

Dang, I already closed the program after I got the rendering done before I saw this post :p Oh well.
