Where does it go? Amazing disappearing & reappearing label

I have a custom label for the labeling of the end of an alignment. It labels it as the "END OF ALIGNMENT" with stationing information and the name of the alignment. The problem is that it disappears. It isn't a layering issue that was the first thing I checked. I did discover that if I run an audit, it reappears but the second you touch the alignment to work with it that label disappears. Any ideas?

How do you have your Geometry Points settings applied? The Begin and end of an alignment label is controlled by those settings.

They have since reappeared and will allow me to move them now, but I'm waiting on them to disappear again. (I've got a back up label just in case that looks just like it but is a station offset point).

Hi again,
I have found that with the development of the software being done with C++, C# and VB, that in order for things to actually 'synch' I need to do a regenall every once in a while to update labels and displays. The info is still there, just for some reason the update.property method doesn't fire in synch with changes.

OK.... lmao... they have now disappeared again... if I touch them in any way... it gets mad and leaves every time... I have since found a work around until I figure it out, sometimes something just needs out the door regardless if your labels are tempermental. Thanks for the thoughts..

We have had some issues with labels disappearing or going haywire at our office. And we discovered that the reason had to do with mirroring leaders. Apparently someone mirrored the leader and within the command deleted the leader they wanted to flip the orientation of. The mirrored leader somehow still sees the original leader as it's "parent" and eventually goes insane and shoots off into nowhere if it is later editted in any way.


Maybe this is what happened to your labels.

I get this problem with the end station on almost all alignments. Autodesk support has been no help.

I'll update this thread if i ever get an answer.

(I'll have to try the audit once i know i'm done editing the alignment)
