I've created an in place family (Structural Framing) and when i join the geometry of my in place family to the slab no lines appear in Plan view. to resolve this i drew some symbolic lines (dashed) in my in place family so at least some lines appear to show where it is. the problem I'm having now is that when the geometry is joined the solid lines of the structural framing appear behind my dashed symbolic lines, and then if i un join the geometry the dashed symbolic lines appear correctly.
I've attached 2 images to show what i mean. the first being when the geometry is joined and the second shows the geometry unjoined.
has anybody a suggestion why this is happening?
