Use the ADD HOLE (Design Menu, Grids>Clip Ceiling Grid) command to represent areas of ceiling that do not have ceiling grid. And note the material in the Finish Schedule. This assumes your are using the Grid command to create your RCPThis assum

Yes, this would work if we are going to leave those areas without any stipple pattern. Unfortunatly the princibles in the office want to see a stipple pattern and I want to mask it when putting in lights and mech. diffusers. The most luck I have had thus far is with roof slab tool modified to the way I need it to show. I still cant get it to insert at proper elevation and I cannot get it to mask as needed.

Have you tried placing a ceiling grid with a grid spacing larger than the room?

I have made the roof slab tool work except I have to manually give it an elevation after placing it in the model. Once I do that I have it set to show only in the design config. 'reflected' with the hatch pattern set to the one I want. For lights and diffusers I have to Trim the slab but it is working ok.

At my office we have choosed to set up space styles for RCP-Grid and RCP-Gyp. Of course we are a large firm and need to separate our RCP's from our Floor Plans to allow multiple people to work on the same project. In the RCP space styles, we set the space to a plot layer and have placed the space on A-Clng-Spce. Then we have no hatch for RCP-Grid and AR-Sand for RCP-Gyp.

Thank you for the reply Laura. That sounds like something I will explore futher to see if it will automate the process for me.
