I have only been using Revit for a couple months, and we are still on a pretty big learning curve. I have a project that is going out tomorrow and I'm trying to get the tags on the elevation sheets. I haven't been able to get a Revit tag modified to work like our standards (yet...hoping to get one set up after this deadline). So here's what I did.

I exported the elevation from Revit to AutoCAD.

Labeled all the items on the elevations with our old AutoCAD tags.

Erased the elevation background in AutoCAD so all I had was the tags.

Imported the tags into the Revit elevation.

This all seemed to work fine, except the tags seem to be "behind" the elevation. I can't seem to get any of the draw order buttons to show up or the visibility settings to work so that the tags are on top of the elevations.

Can anyone offer any help to get these tags to show up???????

Thanks,

Tony

Tony, you're killing us man... I wouldn't even know where to start with how backwards that all sounds... Though it's kind of fascinating how "inventive" we can get when faced with a deadline!

Anyway... if you select the dwg file you imported and select its properties, there's a parameter called "Draw Layer" that lets you select whether you want the dwg file to be displayed in the background or foreground. Change it to foreground and hopefully that fixes the issue.

If that doesn't work, exploding the dwg might work (though if your acad tags use attributes, that might mess them up).
