Hi

Is there a way to reduce the size of the text background?

I find it useful to occasionally set it to opaque but it blocks out more than it really needs to.

What would be ideal would to have a semi-transparent setting. (Wish-list?)

I had the same question about the text mask.

The adjustable opacity idea is a good one, but I think it may hog up a lot of video RAM.

If it was just one half way setting I don't think it would be too bad.

You can change the background to transparent.

Yes I'm aware of that: "I find it useful to occasionally set it to opaque", but on occasions that makes it worse.

I just wanted to bring this thread back up, and ask if it had ever been addressed? Is is possible to adjust the size of the masking region? It just seems a little to big, and when a small dimension is used the text cuts off the tops of our tick marks.

Yes, and its 2010 and this issue has not been addressed.

Who came up with this MASSIVE text masking or whiteout background to TEXT.

Seriously if your text is 2.5mm than the text mask takes up 6mm height vs 5mm width on just a single letter.

I don't want transparent text but want to keep opaque background.

There should be a control to this. It just seems ridiculous in the size of text mask.

It's very bad especially in MEP where many tags are required.
