Hi folks

We have just installed ADT 2004 on a small number of our CAD workstations for a specific project. The rest of the office is using ADT 3.3. We now want to set R2000 as the default dwg format for Saves until the remainder of our workstations are updated.
I've searched various forums & the Autodesk KB for the answer to this, and they all say 'Go to the Open & Save tab of the Options dialogue & select the format from the pulldown. When I do that the only format available is R2004.
We have tried the Export to R2000 option in the file menu, but this binds all our external references.
What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Install Service Pack 2 for ADT2004 [it includes Service Pack 1, so you do not need to install that first, if you have not already done so]. This will restore the ability to SAVEAS back to the 2000 format. See http://usa.autodesk.com/getdoc/id=TS75650 .

Be aware that saving a ADT2004 file back to the 2000 format will NOT convert any ADT objects back to ADT3[.3]-compatible objects. You should be able to open the file, but the ADT commands wil be disabled.

Thanks David

Yes, I'm aware of the functionality issues. Not a problem for us. Just couldn't figure out where the Save to 2000 option had gone. I'll get our IT people to install the Service Pack asap.

I was trying to send someone a ADT2004 file which I converted to 2000 and instead of doors and windows all they saw were boxes and boxes. Was there something I should have done besides saving it to acad2000?

They will need to download the proper object enabler
to see the proxy graphics being created.
There may not be one available for your needs
go here: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/usearch?siteID=123112&id=2088334
and do a search for Object Enablers
Also have them check to see if they have PROXY graphics on or off at their location.
