While using the solprof command to create isometric views of general arrangements of production line layouts, it is sometimes necessary to indicate existing equipment, as well as newly added equipment in one view. Currently I explode the created 2 d profile (PV* layer), and manually change the linetype of existing equipment. This is a time consuming task, and if you update the models, the whole procedure needs to be redone. Is there a method of allocating specific linetypes, or perhaps allocating different layers to different models during this single command ? As you know, you cannot solprof the models separatly on one drawing, as the hidden effect is spoilt then. Please advise, surely other draughtsman have similar frustrations ?

I use screening for existing equipment, and multiple viewports. Here's a sample of what it looks like in CAD, and what the print looks like. Color 8 is screened 50%.

In AutoCad, Hidden is only used on the new part, as well as color 3. Existing construction is a solid line color 8.

Good luck!

Thanks a lot, this method sure makes life easier. It is however a pity that the overall "hidden" effect is lost. On the other hand, it does give a better idea of the new part, especially if it is tucked away under other components as per your example.
