Open file to view/print only

is there a way to just open, view and print a project without having to hit save and relinquish all when prompted to do so? managers are afraid to open drawings becasue of the fact that they have to hit save just so they wont lock up the worksets.

On worksetted projects, when someone wants to JUST print and view, we have them copy a local, but open it with "detach from central."

They can print what they need and close their file, and have no effect on the central file...
