RCP view range behavior

I noticed in my RCP view, if I set the Top and View Depth to Unlimited, the view appears to be wireframe, showing everything above my cut plane, even things that are above my roof. If I change it back to some number of feet above the level above, then it looks normal. Anyone know why this happens?

The view is set to Hidden Line in both cases.

Hey there,
I believe it shows everything which is beyond your primary range as an overiden line style of "beyond". kinda like when you have an underlay plan, it looks like a wireframe view. I know that sometimes you have to make minor changes to the view range in order to get the final view that you are looking for.

I still refer to it as the "type and pray" method.
