i can't open a file when i go -file - open - at the bottom of the screen i get - "Enter name of drawing to open (name of last drawing opened):" ctrl+o does not work also. i have exited, turned off the computer, reinstalled autocad but have not been succesfull so far. i'm running autocad 2002 on win 98. most of the pull down commands are greyed out and most of the icons won't work either. any ideas?

Turn on your FILEDIA, and CMDDIA and all should be well.
Then export and save the current profile to someplace safe for when AutoCAD
settings go astray, you can import this good profile you just saved.

As a side note, when prompted for the file name at the command line you can respond with ~ to force the dialog.
