Has anyone else experienced problems loading the PACKNGO.arx application in 2004? I keep getting a message that AutoCAD is unable to load whenever I try to load that particular .arx file.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

PacknGo is part of the express tool. It was taken out and wasn't updated for 2004. Try using eTransmit. It's the replacement for PacknGo.

Hi

Please note I've *moved* this Topic (Thread) from the AutoCAD Customization Forum (http://forums.augi.com/forumdisplay.php?f=118) to this one as I believe it would be better served here.

Thanks, Mike

Hi

Check out the following snippet from an AutoCAD 2004 review -

<snip>
ARX Specification: This has changed. This means that most add-ons built for AutoCAD 2000 will not work in 2004. You will need to contact the add-on developer for a 2004 compatible version of the add-on. Simple lisp routines should run without any problems.
</snip>

Personally I would go with Glenn's suggestion.

Have a good one, Mike

We use AutoCAD 2002, so PacknGo.arx still works, and that's what we use. Although 2002 also includes the ETRANSMIT command, we don't use it because it's MUCH slower than PacknGo. On a complex drawing with lots of xrefs, PacknGo might take as long as 10 seconds or so to display its dialog box, whereas ETRANSMIT can take as long as 3 to 5 minutes. I wonder if this has been fixed in the new releases?

I use etransmit with 2005 (on my pititful excure for a workstation) and it works great for me binding up the files, including my notes, and saving down to r2000, nice and quick.
