Roof Mass & Extrusion

Can someone help me with this one. I'm creating a roof that's made of a mass and an extruded part. Both will be glazed. How can I bled them together???

I would get the mass into an in-place roof family, and then join geometry; this would leave you the most flexibility for future changes. A second less flexible option is to apply a roof to the surface of your existing mass.
