Freezing Families in 2008!!

A specific user is trying to edit a family. She has the rights to access (read/ write) the family. She makes changes to the family, and then, before loading it back into the project, she saves it. The message pops up asking if the user would like to overwrite the family with the same name. She says yes. Then, Revit freezes.
Ideas?

Is the family file being overwritten located on the network or the local drive? I would try saving to the local drive just to eliminate any network issue. Not an answer, so much as more troubleshooting info.
