multileaders not scaling to viewport

Ok, I haven't played with the new annotative features much. From what I can see, it is actually a step backwards not forward. In acad2007 my dimstyle was set to "scale dimensions to layout" and that worked great, all the text was the same size regardless of viewport scale, be it standard or custom. For some reason, and I must be missing something here, but "scale dimensions to layout" no longer works in 2008? I have to manually add a custom scale, or choose a scale to dimension correctly? What am I missing? I have tried using annotative text styles and "regular" text styles in the multileader with the same result.

you can set the annotations to automatically add scales to objects when the scale is changed (see picure - the scale with the lightning bolt next to it). otherwise yes, you have to add scales to objects manually. after working with it for a while, i think its a good way to go about it. the project i am currently working on will have drawings at 1/16 and 1/8 - and i dont want the 1/8 dims to display for the most part in 1/16 views, so i dont have a 1/16 scaled added to those objects, and if i change my scale, they go away.

if you have alot of scales outside of the standard arch scales, its best to set them in your template file so they are always in the drawing.

I think Adesk are admitting that a lot of people are NOT going to switch to paperspace dimensioning so annotation scaling is, in that sense, a backward step.

I love Annotative Scaling! It's truly the answer to most of life's problems when it come to AutoCAD's mediocre dimensioning and annotating system. What annoys me about it is how the scale list pulls in scales from XREF's. Why? After adding a few XREF's to a drawing, my scale list is long, really long, like 100 options long! We work in engineering and architectural scales, so the list is pretty long to begin with. Oh well, it's a start right?
