ColorFill using Design Options

Hi, need some help. I'm using design options with two different options. I set up two different room finish schedules with no problemwhich point at each design option. However, I want to use color fill to reflect each of the two options also. It seems that there's an option under properties to assign the color fill to the correct design option but it's just greyed out refering to the "model plan".

Any help would be great!
