Hi all...

How would you recommend modeling the following object?

Concrete wall.

In plan view, the wall arcs.
In elevation view, the top edge of the wall is sloped.
All vertical surfaces are still vertical.

Thanks in advance.

Create a wall as you ordinarily would to the planometric extents that you need, say 10'-0". Then I might edit the profile to take on the top shape I require for the arc. Edit Profile is made available to you once the wall is placed and the wall is once again selected (turns red) Hope that helps.

Thanks for the input, Chuck.

Unfortunately, the "Edit Profile" option is not available for circular walls.

Any other ideas?

Create a sloping reference plane, then Attach the wall to the reference plane. If the reference plane is deleted the wall will revert back, so it might be good to give it a name that makes sense, and perhaps pin it to keep it from moving around.

You can also use and inplace void family to cut the wall in elevation. The ref. plane is great for just straight slopes but if you need something more complex use a void.

Here is a link to a knowledge base article on editing the profile of a curved wall. Or search autodesk.com for TS78617

saeborne,

This file is from the KB article. I added a curved wall and a revolved void to cut it at the top. Is this the condition you are modeling?
