View Full Version : Floor Sketch Lines Defaulting to "Defines Constant Height"

I have a Revit project I've been working on for a couple months now. We've drawn and redrawn plenty of floors in it. However, now when you start to sketch a floor line it defaults to being checked for "defines constant height." I can't figure out how to get it to default to that property being unchecked. Any suggestions?

So, I still haven't figured this one out yet. Is there someplace to define the default parameters for creating floors? I'm completely puzzled, and it makes an extra step to draw a floor.

1 why would it be a problem to have it default to that value?
2 wouldn't the effort to consider which checkboxes you want to have on or off defeat the effort of just clicking it once for every floor?

But yeah, I also agree it'd be nice to have checkboxes for sketch mode default to their previous value. Not sure which programming/performance issues that would cause tho.

If I assume correct, checkboxes are not register- or config file values, but hardcoded.

1. It's a problem because I'm not drawing sloped floors - they're all flat.
2. I want every line to not "Define Constant Height" and will for the most part always want that.

I think I'm most confused because I was out of the project for a couple of days while other people were working in the file (both of whom are new to Revit, so I'm not sure if it's something they did). Before I left, floor sketch lines defaulted to the "Define Constant Height" not checked, as they always have for me. When I jumped back in, the default seems to have changed. I realize all I have to do is sketch it then select all the lines and uncheck the box once, but it's still kind of annoying.

Sorry, I didn't read your first post right. That's annoying indeed. Someone might have to look into that...

I'm not getting that. My settings never default to Define Constant Height....

Neither have mine until now...

Edit: I copied in a floor from a previous version of the model, and when I edit it and draw new lines they default to the "Defines Constant Height" too.
