NVM my post then:)

Case 1: In View/Graphics, check to make sure that "callouts" are turned on this will be under the annotation tab.

Case 2: Are you using Drafting or model lines for this? I'm guessing that you are currently using model lines and the work plane is not set correctly (you are drawing on a plane that is not visible.) If you only need to see the lines in this view I would use drafting lines.
