this is my first post. i am new to 3d modeling in autocad. i am using AutoCAD 2006. i have just completed my model and i want to use it to generate elevations, sections and a 3d line drawing. is there a way to convert a view into a line drawing so i can change the linewieghts? thanks in advance for any help. i'm am also new, so please make you instructions as staightforward as possible. thanks

Hi. Welcome to AUGI.
First, read acad Help on SOLVIEW, SOLDRAW and SOLPREP. This shows the "proper" way to produce 2d. There are other ways - "workarounds" mainly.
Then ask again.

I can add some ways about 3D->2D for ex:Solprof,flatten,and saving as dxb file.

As someone mentioned in small type; try SOLPROF. It's the way to go, in my book, but I do simple mechanical parts design; there may be some reason to go through the "SOLVIEW", then "SOLDRAW" sequence for an architect. I think it makes changes easier, but I'm not sure; I found it awkward to use for my needs.
