I've created a few valve families and a few have a specified flow direction. I would like an arrow to show up above the valve to indicate flow direction. It would also be nice if it said "Flow" but that really doesn't matter.

How should I go about this?

1. Create a Yes/No Parameter called "Arrow"
2. Create your arrow either in a nested annotation or through symbolic lines.
3. Go to edit properties of the elements of the arrow, and then link the parameter to the option called "Visibility."
4. Repeat for as many symbol options as you want, each with its own checkbox.

Hey,
Can I use that same idea for showing directions/filled faces for my exit signs?

Yeah, thats actually what I use it mainly for. I have 4 parameters in my annotation family for "right face, left face, left arrow, right arrow etc. You link the visibility setting of your filled region to these parameters and load into your family. Then you open up the nested annotation in the family and link them to family parameters.
