Wall Join problem

I have been trying to clean-up this detail of a wall intersection. I want the wall with the 2 layers of Gypsum board to NOT break for the single layer wall that intersects it. I have tried "edit cut profile" and "edit wall join" but haven't been successful. What am I doing wrong?

As soon as I posted this I noticed Scott's reply to the edit cut profile post. Is the fix similar to my problem? I think using filled regions should work, I just don't know if there is a better solution.

Pull wall away. Use wall join tool on end of free wall and disallow join. Use align to place end of wall at face of other walls.

Thank you Arron that was a great tip. It took me a while to figure out that I needed to drag the wall end, far enough away from the 2 layer gyp bd. wall so that the edit wall join box didn't touch the 2 layer gyp bd. wall to get the unjoin option. Thanks again for taking the time to help!
