What's the difference between Inventor and Inventor LT? I know with AutoCAD the main difference was 3D manipulation vs. no 3D manipulation, but that can't be the case with Inventor. Does it have to do with Assembly creation or DWG creation or something like that?

Inventor LT does not do assemblies. Most anything you can do with a single part in Inventor can also be done in Inventor LT. You can go back and forth between the two programs with the files but don't install both on the same machine.

Sounds like the old XchangeWorks program that SolidWorks used to give away...

So, to save costs, we could give part designers LT, let them design their parts, and then someone else with Suite or Professional could make the assemblies? Can LT open an assembly? I know that Suite can open a professional drawing that has created electrical conduit, but it can't parametrically modify said conduit. Would LT be like that? Can open file, but can't modify assembly?

That's enough to help the decision there. :) We need to have sheet metal, so that means no LT for us. Thanks for the help.

I know for certain the tools aren't there though.
Does anyone know the answer to that one?
