Currently there isn't an option to do that automatically...must add the text yourself...
I did some investigation, because it seemed too easy to accomplish for the revit factory...
In UK, maybe some other country, there is a "show opening height" standard to show the height of a door when dimensioning doors.
Try for yourself... dimension the width of a door....edit the dimension of the door and at the very bottom of thetype parameter there is a box that you can check.
If it is checked, you will see the opening height shows up under the width....so the code is there for it to work
Our enemy are the europeans...maybe just the English (just kidding...I love you guys!!!!)
But I suspect, until that remains, we won't get our option to include text under the dimension string.
Take care,

In the Properties flyout window, try typing in: <>\Pyour text here in the "Text Override" section.
"<>" means "show the measured dimension"
"\P" means stack the following text under what came before it (center justify...use \X for left justify). Must be uppercase.
"your text here" is...well, you know.
It's pretty old school, but hey, if it works....

That would work...if we were using AutoCAD. Revit 2009 will support additional text above or below the dimension line. Just a couple weeks away now...

Ha! Whoops, you know I completely overlooked the fact that this thread said it was for Revit. Thanks for the correction, Steve.
Man, I want to play with Revit....

Whoa, I never knew that checkbox was there for showing the opening height underneath the dimension line.
But we usually don't dimension openings unless they are masonry walls. Usually we just dimension to the centerline of the door or window and let the type elevations and schedules take care of the actual sizes.
