View Full Version : WALL HATCHES
my brick wall hatches in elevation are appearing extremely dark. i even changed the material type to be a white but it's still showing dark grey. is there a setting somewhere that i'm missing?

Check the shading it might just be a shadow if the hatch is recessed.

if your patterns a model pattern or a drafted pattern?
Justin
it's a drafted pattern...

seeing as drafted patterns take there scale from the view that you are in, i dont think that actual brick hatch is the way to go. you would want actual coursing, not just a "filled with hatch". use a model and things should turn out ok.

Model Patterns are for real world things like brick. Drafting are for representations(typically sections/cut objects.
actually i did have it on a model pattern, and no matter what color i set it to, it makes it very dark.

are you in hidden or shaded views? is there any overrides associated to surface patterns of walls?
Can you post a screen shot of the view?
Justin
If you are using RAC2008 check to see if the category of walls in this view has a graphic override applied to it as well.

If you are in a perspective view, the default size is only 6"x4" so the linew would be right on top of each other. pick the crop boundary. then in the options bar edit the size(scale) to 24"x16" see if that helps. note also that in any view when zoomed out the hatches will appear grey, then when you zoom in you will see them. When you print you get what you see zoomed in.
