When inserting linear repeating patterns, it would be great if, after the original insertion, the string of entities could be extended, shortened, etc. Perhaps a non-plot layout line that could be grip edited, extended, trimmed, etc.

The gypsum board component comes in as a closed polyline which is difficult to edit after insertion. I prefer to use multi-lines to represent materials that are linear, but do not change thickness. (Multi-lines could use a good tune up too, but that is another wish). As a close polyline, you have to use the stretch command or select multiple grip points to do a simple extension. It also does not allow you to enter multiple segments. If it came in as a multi-line entity, it could be grip edited to extend, shorten, and add corners, etc, all without changing the thickness.

In general and as an example, if the detail component manager is used to create a wall section, and a design change causes the wall to be taller, it would be most useful if you could use a stretch command on the entire wall and have all the components extend, with the linear repeating patterns simply adding elements as the wall is stretched.
