Here is a typical situation: you get a structural model from you consultant and link it into your Architecture model.

My problem: I cannot get the Room tool to recognize the imported concrete walls. The tool goes right through the shaft walls and other interior concret walls.

I created a dummy file to show the problem. Please look at it if you have time and let me know if there is a solution out there....

- Open Concrete Target
- Make sure Concrete Source is loaded as a link
- Go to Level 1
- Try to make a Room

THANK YOU!

Sadly, that's one of those things they don't quite have worked out yet.

You can Tag a room through a link, but all of the Room Bounding elements must be in the Parent model.
You've got tow options: The simplest, but least Revit-like would be to just draw Room Separation Lines over the top of the Structural walls.
The other option would be to Copy /Monitor the Structural Walls into your model. That may take a lot more coordination with the Structural Engineer than you're ready for, though. Its a great concept, but it takes more work that you think it will.
