I am new to this and am finding that this AUGI is the best. The next problem that I am having is drawing clutter.

If I put my floor joist on the floor plan and the plumbing on the floor plan and the electrical on the floor plan and the demetions on the floor plan there is way too much confusion. I tried to duplicate the floor plan and put the electrical but the symbology shows on the floor plan. When I "hide in view" all the electrical 'turns off'

I tried to creat the electrical on a ceiling plan and symilar results.

What am I doing wrong.

Sounds like you need to read up on Visibility/Graphics.

You're on the right track with Duplicating the Views. Typically, you're going to have a View set up for each of the different type of information you're displaying (Structural Plan, Electrical, Dimension, etc)
(BTW, that's also he only way you're going to get those Views on different Sheets)

Once you have a View created, right-click anywhere in the View, then select View Properties. On the View Properties dialog box, there's a line titled Visibility/Graphics. that gets you into a dialog box where you can turn things on and off by what "thing" they are. This is not like AutoCAD, where you put things on Layers and turn Layers on & off. In Revit, you're turning Object Categories off. If you want to turn off Doors, you uncheck Doors. If you want to turn off Room Tags, you uncheck Room Tags, if you want to turn off Electrical fixtures, you uncheck Electrical fixtures. It's all pretty straight-forward.

Good luck and welcome to the future!
