Just wondering If I can model Roof framing or floor joists on the fly. I don't want to construct each Rafter separately.
Thanks

Use a "Beam System" under Structural tools--just sketch a rectangle around the bay
you want to place framing members in--specify what type/size/spacing--
and voila--you have it.
Also, for sloping structural framing, create a sloping reference plane--select it
as the current work plane, and then place the beam system--and the members will
conform to the slope. Adjust the ref. plan, and all the members adjust!

For an exposed rafter system on a cieling that I had to do awhile back i created a "roof" that followed the profile of the porch and then "cut" the areas out between the 16" on center rafters. I also changed the material to wood so that it showed up correctly.

How about this I found them on revitcity.com I have about 15 different truss designs. Additionaly, I used the structural beam tool (after I modified the 'beam' to a 2 X materal) and changed the spacing to 16" oc

Not bad.... I have found some things on RevitCity to be very useful.
