I just installed Revit architecture 2008, I used to have Revit 8.1. I noticed that in revit 8.1 when you do not want to see the surface pattern of an identity (roof for instance) you just had to go to visibility, roof and uncheck surface pattern. But in Revit 2008 I can not find this "surface pattern in the visibility window. Is there another way to do this?

Its still there now its just in the VV, then you'll see a whole column header for Projects with patterns under it, just click in the box and you can overide it to any color or turn it off. Basically the check box for off and on has become an overide tool to allow for much more control.

Open Visibility Graphics
Select the category you want to override
The override button will appear after you select it.
This confused me too at first. I expected to see the surface pattern options whether I selected the category or not...
