View Full Version : why do my filters keep disappearing?

I'm having this weird problem with my filters. I can setup a new filter, apply it to a view, all is good. Sometimes though, seemingly at random, my filters will disappear from my filter list(edit>filters), but they will still be applied to whatever views I originally set them up for. This gets a little annoying when I want to apply a filter to a new view or modify an existing filter. How is it that I can have a filter on a view that doesn't show up in the list?
We're still on 9.1 here if it makes any difference.

are you using a central file? If so i know that i had a problem with if i created a filter, other users could not see the filter.

yeah, its a central file with 2-3 other users. it could be happening when I make new local files too. was there any kind of fix for this or do you just have to keep remaking them?

Just be sure to make the filters in the Central file? I've ran into this as well, but we have some filters built into our template, and these never disappear. I had assumed someone was purging the file and purging out filters when they were accidentally turned off in VG settings.

Justin,
Did you by any chance submit this as a support request? It may just be a bug that needs fixing that no one has ever documented with them since Filters are underused in the Revit community - one of those features not enough people understand and use effectively.

to be honest i can't remember. either i did and there was no good answer, or we where busy and the work around had to do.
I will post and see what happens.

That was a known issue when filter got released. Im not sure but try to open the central file, create your filter and then have all local reload latest.
