MATERIALS IN INVENTOR

Inventor has a limited number of materials available to select from. Is there a source online for more materials that can be loaded in? If so, how do you load them in? We even have a need for different types of wood once-in-a-while.

I needed a bunch of "custom materials" for IV8 and i never found any online (i didn't spend too much time looking) so i just added my own that i needed. This included textures for them.

IV 9 may be different since there is a file in the Design data folder called materials. It's an xml file and when i opened it it's a bunch of text .

You might be able to get something like that somewhere.

One other thing to be careful of. As i mentioned i had all my materials & textures set up just right in IV8. When i went to IV9 the materials are there, along with some new ones. BUT the textures i had set for some messed up, and then that messed up the parts that used the textures. and when i fix one it only fixed that part. So Gradually i'll get all 3000+ files corrected , one at a time.
Just something to watch for.
