Wall Niche

Does anyone have any experience with this in residential work? I tried creating one with a wall opening, but that only goes as deep as the wall and I need something deeper. I also tried a mass but that didn't work either.

I've done a few recently - half way through the wall and arch-topped.

I think I made them using in place families - just custom extruded voids - but I've noticed that in the Metric library there is a folder called 'Generic Model' with sub-folder 'recessed features' and a couple of families called:
Wall Recess - Radiused.rfa
Wall Recess - Rectangular.rfa

I've attached them here in case you don't have them - they don't appear in my Imperial Library.

Here's one I threw together for this Thread. I would change materials and visibility if I were to continue using it but I wanted to quickly give you something to start with.

As you will see I also created a wall opening but I added volume behind it. To dress it up I added a trim sweep and sill.
