I have to draw some log houses for a project. It looks like I will have quite a few families to create. Has anyone ever had that kind of project to guide me through this or showing me some examples of families.
Thanks

Ive seen it done as a very thin wall, with a lot of embedded sweeps as the logs...

Wow. Thank you, it will be very useful. One question for you Clyne. If the wall is 7 1/4" thick, do you have to redo all the logs?

I recently experimented with beam systems and curtain panels. You can make a curtain panel the shape of a log, with end offset parameters, then create a mullion profile the shape of the chinking(sp?). then create a wall system out of these. Make sure you put end offset parameters in the curtain panel family so you can finger joint the ends.

I completed a 6000 sq.ft. log home using this method. It turned out great but by the end, if you wanted to move any of the log walls, Revit took it's sweet time reacting to the change.
Another thing to point out is that you may have to change your window families to include your trim as the opening otherwise you will get your log sweeps crashing into the window. At that point, you can drag the sweeps back but this takes time. But like I said, in the end, it turned out great!
