I am reasonably new to using 2008 Architecture Revit so bear with me.

I have created two different apartment building modules (3 & 4 storey) that each have two different top level design options & two rooftop design options. the buildings are made up of linked aprtments. i have placed several of these building modules in a master drawing. (i used to think of it as building modules that are nested xrefs)

when i open the master drawing the model shows both of the top level options & only one roof top options in the 3 storey building, and no top level option & one roof top option on the 4 storey.

Does anybody have some ideas as to why?

EDIT: ah i found the the missing link, attach the link not overlay for the 4 storey. but that doesnt solve the fist problem.

You need to specify which Design Options you want to use.

I had chosen the ones i wanted to display (primary option) but for some reason both of them could be seen in the master drawing. i managed to get one building module to do what i wanted so i then recreated the other in the same way from scratch and now they both work. it was quicker than trying to figure out what went wrong - i still don't really know

Edit: i just read the old forums at the bottom and discovered the 'display option' property for views. now i can create separate views of each option for display without having to change primary design options all the time. now i understand what you mean specify which one you want. thank for the help. this software just gets better the more you use it!
