1. Has any one encountered Revit files that cannot be saved back to the server ( they do not recognize the server path name, when they once did recognize the path name)?
2. Or Revit files whose links cannot be loaded anymore?
3. Or Has anyone run Revit.exe's and they work fine and it loads them on peoples machines, but then one day have the Revit.exe's are not working, but after a server reboot they work fine?
We are trying to narrow down an issue that seems to only effect Revit related things
Or is this Microsoft Updates messing with Revit?
Does Revit require a server reboot every so often?

Weird questions.... weird problems! Now I have seen Revit "forget" where the Central file was (in the STC dialog we simply re-pointed Revit to the central file).
I've given all machines in our office static IPs and the Server's IP is given first dibs for WINS in the network properties to ensure the Server is easily found by all the workstations.

I'm not a network guy but, any chance any of your users are working from laptops or machines that don't have drive letters mapped the same way as your server?
I used to run into problems when I connected my laptop to a network and one of my USB ports occasionaly had an external drive connected that hijacked the 'G' drive letter that this office used as their common drive. Once I permanently assigned that drive letter to their server the problems stopped.

It's been giving us strange results, I believe this is an internal problem with our server? Because over the past few hours it periodically fixes its self and then goes haywire again for a little while even with "non Revit" .exe files.
here is one of the errors I have gotten.

Did you guys upgrade the FlexLM license manager software to the one required for 2008?

Drive letters doesn't really matter because Revit mostly uses UNC path unfortunately.

What does this mean?
I downloaded the new build of 2008, does it tell me somewhere that I need a FlexLM?
Where do I get it?
How do I check if I already have it?

While this is true for Local-to-Central exchanges, Revit uses mapped drive letters for linked files - both RVT and DWG.
