1: When doing a topo by points, is it possible to expand (by interpolation) the resulting surface to fit the property line? When I create a topo by points I end up with an irregular boundary, and I would rather not have to calculate the elevation of the corner points. The closest I have gotten is to do topo well beyond the property line, then do a Split Surface at the property line, and delete the outer extraneous part. Just looking for a better way, if there is one.
2: Can I control how for down the site earth hatch is shown in section? On individual topo surfaces? I am still trying to figure out how to put new topo over the top of a section of underground building, and have it stop at the upper "roof" surface of the underground portion of the building.
3: Is anyone even attempting actual Architectural site work in Revit, especially addressing new and existing contour lines? It seems like the only real option is to hire a Civil Engineer to do the work in AutoCAD, which is not exactly how real architecture works. Or is this one of those "If you want to do real site work once in a while, by Civil 3D" situations? Or perhaps you do design level sitework in SketchUp and export to DWG and then into Revit?

Thanks!
Gordon

Make the topo bigger than your prop. then use the split surface and select your prop lines. Then delete what you don't need.

The depth of the hatch is controlled in the Site settings dialog.

We are doing our site plans in Revit and using some of the modeling for stairs walks and a few other items. We are also using parking spaces in a sort of schematic way to count and understand the building area requirements based on parking etc. However since there is no way to really dimension a topo (Subregions do not dimension) and 3D lines are hard to get to display right etc. we often overlay the site with drafting lines and such to get the site plan correct.
We also use the survey and civil 3D topo drawings to get the topo close to correct and use pads to control the spaces where the building sits. Right now based on the site tools you really need a civil to make the site truly accurate but for SD and DD the Revit tools work fine.

For those of you who aren't sure where to find the "site settings dialog", this is for you.

Go to your "Site" view and then go to the "Massing & Site" ribbon menu. Under the "Model Site" section of the ribbon, look for the small arrow in the lower right corner below the "Building Pad" button. Click the small arrow, this will open the "Site Settings" dialog box.
