I used Repeating Detail (brick) on a wall section and as I stretch it longer or higher from the first level I noticed that the horizontal ties that I had previously placed at every 16" o.c. gradually is not in sync with the mortar joints anymore. My wall is about 40' high so at the upper part some ties are almost in the middle of the brick material. Any idea why this is so? Should I reset the numbers in the properties... and to what?

Be sure that the brick module is set so it actually repeats at 16".
For a wall that high I'd probably set up a detail component that has 6 courses of brick (16" high, depending on the coursing) and include the ties. Then set your repeating detail up to repeat every 16". This will also save you the hassle of placing two detail components.

The supplied brick repeating detail is based on a spacing of 2.667" which is not the same as 2 2/3". Over 40' - this ends up being a bit off. The solution as mentioned above is to work with a detail that uses a nice even number. Such as 3 brick details set exactly at 8".
The AutoCAD and Revit brick hatch patterns have the same problem.
