Is there a way to load all the types of a particular family from the web library. I would like to load all the types available with the wide-flange beam in Revit's online library. That way I could pick the size I need. I go to "Load From Library > Load Family" and then access the web library. I scroll down to the Structural section, and then columns, but when I pick "Wide Flange Columns" aren't I downloading the family only? How do I get all the types shown in the text file to come with the family? Thanks.

The txt file and the rfa file must be downloaded into the same directory. And make sure you download the matching file otherwise revit won't pick it up in the load family UI. Then select the types you want to load in bottom section of the load family dialog before hitting the open button. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the help. I now see that I already have these txt files loaded into my Revit Library folder. I still don't know how to load the "types" into the project. I've loaded the family (W-Wide Flange_column) but the only type that shows is W12X26. How do I get the other types to show up in the list? Are they supposed to be loaded automatically from the txt file? Both the rfa file and the txt file are residing in the same folder. Thanks.

When you go to File>Load from Library and select an item to load that has a type catalog, the other types will show at the bottom of the dialog box. (Just highlight the family you want to load, don't double-click it). This list at the bottom of the dialog box will show all the types, where you can select one or multiple tpyes to load. Use shift and/or control key when slecting to select more than one, then click click Open. This will load all the selected types.

Steve BlackburnThey do not load automatically you have to select the types you want by clicking on the related type rows. See the image. If you don't select you just get what types are stored in the family.
