How to exchange models?

What is the process to exchange model files with a consultant or with another architect? Not worried about the copy monitor tools at this point. The consultant will be a back and forth exchange where we will insert their model and they will insert our model into the respective files. The architect exchange will just be a one way exchange of us sending the latest model.

Do we make a new central file and send that to them? Is there a tool I'm not aware of?

What you want to do is Open your central file from within Revit (ie. File-Open) and tick the 'detach from Central' box. You can then Save As a new file to send over.

Anyone sending a model to you should do the same.

You can then both Link your respective models in.
