A couple of options.

There is a setting called "Hide at scales coarser than" for section views. It automatically hides the annotation at scales coarser than the setting. So, if that is set on 1/16" = 1', then you won't see sections on any site plans at 1/32" = 1.' We create a section type called "Millwork" sections and set the value to 1/4" so that they won't show on our plans, but will show in our enlarged plans.

You can hide an annotation in a view by selecting it and then right-clicking on it. This may have been done. If you're in 9.1 you'll have to hover over where you think the view is and try and select it to unhide it. If you're in 2008, you can click the lightbulb button on the bottom of the view window and it will show you all hidden elements in marvelous magenta! Select the view annotation and "unhide" it.

If in 9.1, you can also make a new view in the same place and see if the section shows up in that view. If it does, then someone turned it off in the original view. If it doesn't, then the section probably doesn't pass through that view...

Good luck!

Check to make sure that your 3D levels extents are passing through the section and for that matter the entire plan. If your levels, grids and sections do not overlap in the x,y and z planes then they do not show up in the views that the planes do not touch. You can change your levels to 2D and drag them so that they all read on the same side of your elevations but your 3D levels need to pass though the entire project to show properly.
