Pad cut pattern

I'm working in RAC'08. I have pads in a site model under my buildings, the pad is called "gravel" and I've assigned a gravel material to it. However no matter what I do, I can not get any type of pattern to show up when the pad is cut in section. Its very strange, I checked my object styles and visibility settings. The pattern appears fine on the face of the pad object, however not when it is cut. Am I missing something really obvious here?

Does your gravel pattern work on any other cut sections? Is the gravel pattern defined as a model or drafting pattern in your Revit.pat file?

I'm importing it as a drafting pattern. I tried a model pattern for kicks and it also did not show up in section. I also tried the standard diagonal drafting hatch and it ony showed up on the face of the pad.

Have you tried the gravel pattern in any other drafting detail? My guess is its too dense to display or the scale is such that there is no element visible.

I'm sorry to say this one should be put in the hall of fame for stupidity..... DUH! I only had a pattern assigned to "surface pattern". Why it was completely escaping me as I looked at the materials property's dialog box that I need to assign a cut pattern too, is beyond me.... Chalk it up to exhaustion and too much to do I guess. I finally caught it Friday night (when I actually have enough quiet to focus on actually doing work).

I want everybody to know that i DONT work with Robert ;-)

But i have heard that he's been VERRRY busy working for that BIM summit so it can explain what just happened.
